Announcing Beneath the Armor: A Caregiver’s Story by Rosemary Rawlins

It’s our great joy to announce that Beneath the Armor: A Caregiver’s Story by Rosemary Rawlins is now available for sale for $2.99 in our store. It’s a remarkable story about how Rosemary’s life changed forever on April 13, 2002, when her husband Hugh had a terrible bicycling accident and emerged with a traumatic brain injury (TBI). He survived and thrives today but only after Rosemary shifted into the challenging role of caregiver, which was difficult on her own mental health. It’s an inspiring story, and what’s so wonderful is that Rosemary had already written it in her much-acclaimed 2011 book, Learning by Accident, which led to her becoming a regular contributor at BrainLine and a national figure in the TBI community. We asked her if she’d be willing to condense it for us, and we’re so honored to bring you the 5,268-word version.

Equally exciting is that we’re able to direct 5 percent of the first-month sales to the Brain Injury Association of Virginia, an organization Rosemary selected and that does outstanding work in providing resources to families.
