See Your Therapist In the Morning. It Could Make For a Better Day.

This is such smart, practical advice, from an article in Lifehacker. You’re more likely to be productive or learn something new at certain hours of the day. If you need to see a therapist for your mental health, then using those hours for therapy may be the best use of your time.

Sessions with a talk therapist or psychologist where you need to digest and process your thoughts involve a lot of mental work. If you go into those sessions well-rested during your peak hours, you’re more likely to be able to learn and process what you need to get something out of therapy, which can help with such conditions as depression and anxiety.

Of course, everyone varies a bit, so if you’re not so coherent at 8 a.m., but you hit your stride at noon, consider going a little later in the day. Regardless of what specific time you go, it’s a good idea to head to therapy while you’re at the top of your game, rather than when you’re worn out.
