Veteran Doesn’t Let Traumatic Brain Injury Stop Him

Some call Navy veteran Allen Horton a hero. Horton prefers “Bub.” “Only by the grace of God, I’m still here,” Bub said. “I’m just a regular old country boy. Just plain me.”

The 31-year-old E-3 was based in Norfolk, Va. a little over 10 years ago.

“One hundred sixty pounds of pure steel,” Bub said. “I ain’t sure what happened to me haha.”

He’s a man with a sense of humor, but also a traumatic brain injury.
